The Minstrels (composed of adolescent teenagers Zayna- vocals, and Claire- guitar) formed in the summer of 2007, when they realized that there was much more to life than sitting in their basements watching TV. So they set out into the world, guitar in one hand, microphone in another, and a sense of power in their minds. From busking at the Georgetown harbor in the rain to attracting minuscule crowds at the Barnes & Noble in Bethesda, the Minstrels shared their love for music with total strangers. However, with the burden of school crushing their backs and spinal cords, the Minstrels have hardly found time to set out into the world. But with the magic of YouTube, they've been able to spread their covers of music written by epic bands such as The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie and Iron & Wine...while studying for algebra and physics.
