Out of the ashes of the 1990’s Boston Punk scene, all grown up and finally flying solo; Doherty has assembled a treasure trove of talent from every corner of the earth to create his Casual Castaways.
Sitting in on his sessions are singers from Zimbabwe and Trinidad, Jamaican guitarists, a horn section from New Orleans, an Indonesian bass player, an Italian string quartet and even a bonafide Aussie on the keys.
Doherty’s new music holds true to his signature sound and gritty vocal vibe.
It is peppered with the music that made him.
Reggae and Rocksteady, Classic Punk and even a little Outlaw Country are represented in “The Singles Project”…a steady stream of single song releases starting in 2022 and ending in 2025 with 16 tracks in total.
Although there is an abundance of global influence, ultimately his sound is forever anchored in old time Rock and Roll and a heaping helping of good old fashion fun.
