Frédéric L’Épée is a french guitarist and composer.
Best known for founding the progressive rock band Shylock in 1974 (gathered again since 2012), the guitar band Philharmonie in 1988 and the instrumental quartet Yang in 2002 (youtube.com/user/Yanggroup), his "trademark" is the incursion of contemporary classic music in rock music and vice versa.
He is also a performing solo artist, a contemporary composer and takes part in several collective projects as e – w e r k, an electric guitar ensemble dedicated mainly to new music.
He lives and teaches in Berlin.
