Hichem Volcano, HV or "Al Borkan," was a revered hip-hop artist and the face of East Coast old school rap in Algeria –Skikda- made it big with albums that some got blocked from the market due the explicit lyrics being straight to the point when describing the political situation in Algeria. Hichem Touioui was born in Skikda, on February 17, 1985, a son of 5 brothers and 8 sisters. He was raised in 500 LGTS where poverty, gangs, and drug dealers all over the place, it’s also known as the richest city in Algeria. Straight after university he moved to the UK . As we all know the nature of the Volcano, Hichem was trying to give an indirect message about himself, described as a Volcano meaning his lyrics get thrown out of his mouth as a Volcanic Ball that has been stored for a while inside him which could be in different moods, calm or on fire just like the Volcano. Leaving Algeria didn’t stop him from doing music, despite the different lifestyle he is still producing and collaborating.
