Laketown Riots is a indie Folk Music Project created by accomplished singer songwriter Dmitri Glover. Under the name DIG, Dmitri has already written recorded and produced ten albums worth of music in his home studio, Avocado Studios. His style ranged across various genres, indie rock, folk rock, electronic. But Dmitri always felt a special connection to the simplistic honest sound of folk music and acoustic instruments, like guitar, banjo, and mandolin. He started Laketown Riots as an experiment in exploring these sounds. Although many wonderfully talented musicians exist within the folk music genre. We here a LTR feel that many the songs are saccharine, pleasant music meant to convey simple images and harmonies to be found in a bookstore or coffee shop. LTR hopes to push boundaries of this genre. With darker elements and themes, and more cerebral messages, as well as utilizing these sounds in more unique and inventive ways.
