Opened in 1974, San Jose Mothers' Milk Bank is the only non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization on the west coast connecting mothers with milk to share to mothers who cannot supply the milk to their own babies. We are the go-to source for health professionals and the general public on the benefits of breast milk and the uses of donor milk specifically. Mothers' Milk Bank provides donated human milk throughout the United States serving 113 hospitals in the US helping premature and sick babies.
Donors are carefully screened and tested to ensure safety. The Mothers' Milk Bank welcomes inquiries from any healthy woman who is breastfeeding an infant and can set aside time to express milk for the good of other babies. Most recipients of donated breast milk are infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) throughout California and the West.
