Dark ambient beats and experimental lo-fi mixtape recordings. Created using a collection of ancient artifacts rescued by Phantom Legend special agents. Phantom Legend Beat Tapes are created using homemade tape loops and various cassettes from our archive of found recordings, meditation and self improvement guides, classic radio shows, music and more. Tapes are layered and manipulated using variable speed controls, played in reverse; then combined with a drum machine, sampler, synths, bent electronic noise toys and midi controlled VST plugins to create a dreamlike beatscape said to leave listeners in a hypnotic state of human consciousness. Some of our relics include: Yamaha SU-10 sampler, Tascam Portastudio 414 MKII, ZOOM MRT-3B drum machine, Library of Congress C-1 variable speed cassette players, Sony VOR cassette tape recorders/players and a variety of Walkman style portable tape players.
