Hunter West grew up in rural Kentucky, where he began playing drums and learning songs in his bedroom at the age of 12. He found himself in Nashville during his early twenties, where he began recording music for friends and started working as a producer/engineer professionally. After several years of working with other artists to find and fulfill their vision, he began to notice an underlying need and desire to express his own ideas. This realization led to a process of sculpting a sound that incorporated modern styles of songwriter, alternative R&B, and pop into something that felt like the true essence of his influences and instincts. Hunter West is building a world of emotional, yet grounded songs that speak through a clear, warm sonic space.
