Hao Li is the CEO/Co-Founder of Pinscreen and a Professor of Computer Vision at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, where he serves as Dean of the Undergraduate Division and Director of the Metaverse Center. His research focuses on computer vision and graphics, with an emphasis on human digitization, performance capture, immersive telepresence, and generative AI for video. Previously, he was a Distinguished Fellow at UC Berkeley, Associate Professor at the University of Southern California, Director of the USC Institute for Creative Technologies, Visiting Professor at Weta Digital, a research lead at Industrial Light & Magic/Lucasfilm, and a postdoc at Columbia/Princeton. Hao was named a MIT Technology Review Top 35 Innovator Under 35 in 2013 and has received the Google Faculty Award, Okawa Foundation Research Grant, ONR Young Investigator Award, and was appointed to the DARPA ISAT Study Group. He is a member of the Academy and earned his PhD from ETH Zurich.
