With Steph Parrish on piano and Grant Burton on guitar, the duo began writing, singing and performing together in 2007. They went on to form several iterations of a 3-6 piece psychedelic folk, indie-rock, alt-country ensemble through 2016. Influenced by Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and Graham Parsons and Emmylou Harris, Hallways crafted a unique sound with their reflective songwriting, vocal harmonies and powerful, sweeping crescendos as a full band. Living both in Seattle and New York City, they played iconic venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and festivals such as Capitol Hill Block Party.
"If you haven’t had the chance to check Hallways out yet, you may be in for a surprise. For their live set, they have reconfigured their slow country ballads into more rockin’ tunes." -KEXP
"This is a band whose greatest asset is attacking its music with a certain abandon, leaving the songs to assert themselves." Sound Magazine (May 2009).
