POETRY FLASH builds community through literature, providing literary writing, access to literary activities, information, and inspiration to writers and the public through publishing and events. Publication is our primary expression, both online and in print.
Founded in 1972, Poetry Flash has provided open access to the vibrant literary scene for more than forty years, serving as an independent voice on behalf of poets, poetry, and other genres of creative writing.
Other key programs include our longtime, ongoing Poetry Flash Reading Series at local independent bookstores, online, and at art spaces in Northern California, and the annual Watershed Environmental Poetry Festival.
Poetry Flash is the organizational home, awards producer, and fiscal sponsor for the Northern California Book Awards and the NCBR.
