Saint Meinrad Archabbey was founded in 1854 by monks of the Abbey of Einsiedeln in Switzerland. Today, over 70 monks of this Benedictine community still live by the Rule of St. Benedict, and with the motto of ora et labora (prayer and work). One of the primary works of Saint Meinrad has been the education of future leaders of the Catholic Church. The Seminary and School of Theology provides education and formation for priests, permanent deacons, lay ministers, and youth. Other works of Saint Meinrad include CareNotes, which offers inspirational booklets on a variety of topics to help individuals heal mind, body, and spirit; and Abbey Caskets, which offers handcrafted wood caskets and cremation urns directly to the public. The Archabbey is always open to visitors. Come visit us! 200 Hill Drive St. Meinrad, IN 47577 (812)357-6611 www.saintmeinrad.edu www.saintmeinrad.org
