Snapshots of one man’s musical life...
The notes are written in the third person because in many ways this feels as if it is about someone else, a different me. From my mid-teens to my mid thirties I defined myself as a musician, either as a full time professional or when I was supporting my musical career working at casual jobs. When I hit 35 I was trapped in a web of dodgy contracts and it was time to move on. I went to college and then worked in design but never stopped playing live, in covers and R&B bands. However, it wasn’t long before I started writing and performing original music again. This channel started out from research and notes I had made for a potential book about life as a “never quite made it” musician, but has become a place to post unreleased material that would otherwise be lost. I have boxes of tapes, photos, set lists, lyric notes etc and every now and then I dig deep and see what I can find…
