NIKI’S JAZZ PROJECT HISTORY OF THE PROJECT: Niki’s Oasis is an award-winning jazz venue established in 1995, which supports and provides a stage for live performances in Newtown. Over the past 27 years Niki's has worked diligently to create a foundation and support system for jazz music by providing a reliable platform that nurtures and exposes talent. Our long-term vision has multiple layers, with a premiere goal of helping artists to move out of isolation and to share their work with new audiences, collectors, producers and communities. Such endeavors have opened up many talents over the past 2 decades by supporting these artists to make livelihoods whilst creating much needed and deserved employment. Niki’s has succeeded in contributing to the continuance of local jazz activities in the city, townships and marginalized areas with a program that extends to rural communities through sourcing talent from far reaching areas of our country.
