ALDA, the European Association for Local Democracy, is an international NGO established in 1999 working for the promotion of good governance and citizen participation at the local level, in the European Union and in its Neighbourhood. With over 20 years of experience, about 350 members in more than 40 countries, and over 60 active projects, ALDA consistently carries out activities that facilitate cooperation between local authorities and civil society, with the aim to spread local democracy.
