🎺 Welcome to Ask Ivan! This channel explores musical ideas—practice, teaching, and performance—drawn from a lifetime in music. My journey began in 1954 as a young radio choir singer and grew into a career playing trumpet in symphony orchestras, studios, jazz and big bands, salsa groups, and more. A key influence on my work is my mentor Dr. John Diamond, who inspired my understanding of the therapeutic power of music and its ability to uplift life energy. I’ve also designed and built my own series of trumpets, including the Quarter Tone and Ascending Valve models.
