Kakerlakk is an alternative rock project, based on S. Miguel island, in the Azores, that started in 2000 as a one-man band. All the songs were written by Carlos Matos and the band's debut album was released on December 9th 2023, recorded by Stepan Kobyakin – who also contributes on keyboards – at his StepKeys Studio. The experienced and trustworthy André Gouveia is on bass.
On December 15th 2023 Kakerlakk played for the first time on TV, on a Christmas special broadcast by RTP-Açores, where they performed 'Another Fool' and 'No Show'. The lineup was Carlos Matos on guitar and vocals, Álvaro Matos on bass, Stepan Kobyakin on keyboards, António Couto on guitar and João Bettencourt on drums.
