Danceworx was founded in 1988 and is the oldest student-run dance organization on the UC Berkeley campus. For over 30 years, we have been providing students with a creative outlet to choreograph, dance, and perform in a fun and supportive environment.
Dancers are selected at the beginning of each semester and practice routines in various styles: Jazz, Contemporary, Open, and Tap. Each semester culminates in a showcase in Zellerbach Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. Our showcases attract over 500 attendees each semester and also feature guest performances from campus and local community groups to foster unity and promote diversity among UC Berkeley's performing arts community.
