We are a community group, set up in Barmouth on the West coast of Wales. We have been in existence for some years, & initially just ran jazz improvisation workshops under the tutelage of local musicians. The workshops are still ongoing - not so frequently, but last over a weekend, are very well attended, and regularly led by musicians such as Ian Dixon (tenor sax) & Mike Walker (guitar). We now also put on live jazz & blues gigs on the Fourth Friday of every month at the local Dragon Theatre, which has an intimate cabaret room & bar. Musicians featured are both local, & from much further afield, such as Manchester & Birmingham. Audiences average 60 - 70, but there is always room for a few more. ...And 2012 saw our first venture into the festival field, when we put on a one day event at the end of May, featuring international jazz performers such as Huw Warren & Byron Wallen.
