Our name comes from the natural wet lands (Machado Lake) near LA Harbor College which was historically called the Bixby Slough (swamp) after the former local Jotham Bixby Ranch. We have been privileged to play at the 2016 and 2017 JEN conventions in Louisville and New Orleans respectively as well as regular events with the Swing 4 Justice organization and at Hojas Tea House in San Pedro. From swing dances to weddings to community art walks the Bixby Jazz Combo has been getting down with that stanky jazz and blues that taps your feet and tickles your ears.
