This channel is devoted to equipping my students in their pursuit of the groove. I'm a drummer based out of Santa Cruz, California who digs playing jazz, funk, blues, and rock. I'm part of a popular 80's tribute band, The Blackouts. There are many tremendous drummers who have influenced my playing: Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, Jon Bonham, Dennis Chambers, Lenny White, and Steve Smith, just to name a few. While I'm admittedly not even close to being in their league I am a solid, reliable player and as a teacher I enjoy working with newer drummers who are passionate about their instrument. I have three versatile kits: a 1970 Marine Pearl Ludwig Superclassic with 4 toms (I'm the original owner); a 1976 Blue Ludwig Vistalite with 2 raised toms (I use for outdoor gigs); and a 2008 Red Silk Onyx DW set with 2 floor toms.
