Intergen is an extension group in Genetics and Plant Breeding, aiming to bring postgraduate students in the area of plant breeding in Brazil closer together. In addition to this main objective, the promotion of science through annual symposia and the holding of meetings for the integration of groups and for contact with researchers in the area of improvement, help to develop the professional and personal skills of each student who is part of the group.
Currently, Intergen is composed of seven groups from different Brazilian states: EuGeM from the Federal University of Goiás; the GEN from the Federal University of Lavras and the Gen Melhor from the Federal University of Viçosa, representing Minas Gerais; the GEMP from the Universidade Estadual Paulista and the GVENCK from the University of São Paulo; the Genetic Gain of the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro, representing Rio de Janeiro and the NuGeM of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
