I didn’t exactly walk to school in the snow barefoot uphill, etc. But for a 14yr old deadhead in 1991, there was no such thing as a “casual” tape trader. Not one in search of the real heady boots anyway. In the personal ads section of a Dupree’s Diamond or Relix magazine (before there was “OMG”) we’d use acronyms like “B&P” and “YLGM” (your list gets mine:). We even managed to operate a typewriter and (if we were lucky enough to score a number), maybe a rotary phone. It easily took a month or two just to complete a single trade. But the payoff when that package finally arrived...
