Kayla is 10 years old and lives in Hilliard, Ohio. Her goal is to be a professional singer--songwriter someday. She began singing songs by Taylor Swift, Joan Jett, and Anne Murray when she was only 6! She has recently taken a strong interest in Jazz music, and along with learning the catalog of singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, she also actively studies the history of their lives and careers. Kayla regularly performs at local nursing homes, various public venues, and festivals. In the Jazz scene, Kayla has been a weekly performer at the Jazz Lab, and has sung for Jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater, vocalist for the Monterey Jazz Orchastra, as well as Byron Stripling, Artistic Director of the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. She has repeatedly performed at the Java Central Coffee House in Westerville with vocal coach, Steve Swanson. She has won various awards from competitions including Wish Upon a Song, the Columbus Children's Festival, and Princess Pageant.
