Duality is found throughout our world: day & night, north & south...good & evil. Whiskey Diablo is a creation of musical duality with a compass of themes: mortality, travel, love, existentialism, personal & societal obstacles, promiscuity, appalachian stories, occupational hazards and the debauchery that inevitably ensues before, during & after a show.
The music is delivered in both traditional and unorthodox methods. It's music at home on a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack. It has elements of rhythm & blues but with punk ethos. It has been called gutter country. It's the "missing a few teeth" or trucker speed kind of country versus the shiny manufactured and packaged pandering type. It's music for robbing banks. It pushes and it pulls. It's wildly manic and then warmly tender. Some of it is profound & thoughtful yet some of it is tongue & cheek. It has duality.
