Folk at the Oak meetings take place at 8pm on the second Thursday of every month. We meet in the Royal Oak on Church Street, just where it becomes the Yelvertoft Road, Crick, Northamptonshire, a mile from Junction 18 on the M1. There is no charge to attend our meetings and we are always delighted to see newcomers to the club, whether to play, or sing, or just to listen. Most of the performers who appear at the club are from Crick, Yelvertoft and other nearby villages. Our definition of 'folk' is a very broad one: we welcome all types of acoustic performance. The music you may hear on any one evening is likely to range from the traditional to the very modern, from tragedy to comedy, from the raucous to the wistful, and to embrace a host of musical styles, including blues, rock 'n' roll, jazz, pop and country . It is intended that this channel will be updated monthly, with usually one song from each of that month's performers.
