Welcome to the YouTube Channel for the "Biomedical and Bio-inspired Fluids Lab" (or, BASU Lab), housed at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota State University and led by Professor Saikat Basu. Through this channel, we share the teaching and research videos that emerge as by-products of our lab's scholarly activities In our research, we leverage tools from theoretical and computational fluid mechanics to explore interdisciplinary questions. Long-term goal of our research program is to help make computational modeling available as a planning tool for surgeons and clinicians while treating flow-based pathologies. Our work connects applied mathematics and biomathematical modeling, with translational applications in healthcare.
