Deepak Kumar Rai is a visual artist currently based in Delhi. Born in, Bihar, India, he spent his early childhood there until the age of five. Rai finds renewed inspiration in painting, printmaking and Documetry through lens, his artwork often depicting the juxtaposition of changes in rural and urban areas, visible both externally and within the home. His work explores the dynamic interplay between tradition and transformation, placing rural and urban realities side by side. Through his paintings, he reflects on how these shifts are not just outwardly evident in landscapes and structures but are also deeply internal, shaping emotions, relationships, and cultural identities within domestic spaces.
