"The dreamlike songs of mohs imagine a kind of ambient take on jazz, with darting horn lines surrounded by billowing textures" Swiss guitarist Erwan Valazza and trumpeter Zacharie Ksyk from Versailles met in Lausanne in 2012 and set out to create their own musical universe. Surrounded by talented French musicians Gaspard Colin on bass and Nathan Vandenbulcke on drums, they founded the band mohs. in reference to Friedrich Mohs' scale which classifies minerals according to their hardness. Well-established in the European jazz scene since 2019, the quartet weaves dreamlike soundscapes with organic sounds and finely textured electronic effects, blurring the lines between jazz, ambient, neo-soul and folk. Signed on French record label BMM Records, mohs. has already released three albums and played over 100 concerts in Europe, including at Duc des Lombards (Paris), Moods (Zurich), Cully Jazz Festival, and opening acts for Avishai Cohen, Christian Scott « Chief Adjuah », Alfa Mist.
