I’m David Hunt, a naturally skilled artist who got steered into electronics, then hit a midlife crisis and earned a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting & Drawing in 2010 at the University of Northampton. I wanted to teach art in the USA, but a heart attack stopped everything and I haven’t worked since. I returned to the UK, now 58, essentially medically retired—but definitely not dead yet. I’m getting back into making art, joining platforms like Ko-fi, Mastodon, LinkedIn, and YouTube to share my work and thoughts. I’ve also taken up microscopy, which may well creep into my paintings. My biggest struggle now is balancing limited time and energy between creating real art and just staying afloat.
