The Golden Nugget Tavern has been South Jersey's home for country music for over 50 years and has been operated by the Nunnenkamp Family since 1956. Val, Jim and Pop Nunnenkamp took over the premises and Val and Jim's country band immediately began the now legendary practice of country music every Friday and Saturday night at The Nugget. Over the years there have been five remodeling or addition projects to provide accommodations to the growing number of country music lovers and converts. Jimmie Nunnenkamp, Jr. ("Porky") is the current family owner/operator and continues the tradition of live music on Friday and Saturday nights, featuring different bands each weekend. The performers include many local bands and artists as well as some famous performers such as Lynyrd Skynyd's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame drummer: Artimus Pyle and The Artimus Pyle Band and country superstar Bill Currington just to name a few!
