Bassem Rashidi means The Smiling Guide.
Bassem Rashidi is a Syrian American Nasheed artist, singer-songwriter, composer, and producer. Gifted with a strong cultural affiliation to music and privileged with a musical background, Bassem knows and believes that music is a universal language and it can be used to build bridges between people of different beliefs, backgrounds, and cultures.
Bassem learned to play several musical instruments including the piano, dumbeg, daf, and tabla, at a young age and then picked up the Nay, Native American Indian flute, and Irish flute as he grew his musical career.
In 1999 Bassem joined ventures with local talents and co-founded NOOR Nasheed Band. Bassem co-produced two albums with Noor, All for You in 2006 and A New Day Begins in 2010.
Bassem believes that now is the right time to produce and record his own work and he is hoping to release his first solo album "My Heaven" by early 2014.
