THEME MUSIC is a private Facebook group for amateur and professional musicians and singers. We post videos of ourselves playing/recording/interpreting songs that revolve around a weekly "theme." Members of the group regularly collaborate with each other, and the community spirit is embracing and positive. We aim to be the antithesis of "American Idol" culture: music for the sake of music, with no competition, no judgment, and no endgame. There are nearly 1,000 of us, and the group is ever growing and expanding. In some ways we consider ourselves to be a single band of which we are all a part: the Theme Music Collective. We play cover songs, write original material, and put on a yearly live show.
