An initiative of Friends of Araluen, Living Histories is about getting to know and celebrate people who live in the Arrernte town of Mparntwe Alice Springs. This is a richly diverse and creative community with a large Aboriginal population, along with people from other parts of Australia and the world.
Speakers share aspects of their life that they're happy to share whether about their family, work, passions, how and why the came to Central Australia. They show images to support their talk and generally speak for 20 - 30 minutes.
There are usually four Living Histories sessions a year, held on a Sunday at Witchetty's Araluen from 2pm - 4pm. $10 - $20 at the door.
