Wax Bird is a mix of pounding drums, heavy bass and infectious guitar, paired with critical lyrics. Since 2018 Charlie, Markus & Rouven have been shaking up the scene, carving out their own style. Their sound is a mix of garage, alternative and punk. The band’s versatility is impressive: from bluesy rhythms to loud, powerful rock sounds, Wax Bird has something for everyone. Led by Charlie, the trans* frontman who plays both the mic and bass, the band brings a unique twist to their sound: effects make the bass sound like a guitar, Markus shines with improvised guitar parts & Rouven’s drumming provides the groove. Wax Bird has already proven themselves on stage alongside bands like Krashkarma, iedereen, Mess Up Your DNA and many more, and won the regio-finals at the SPH Music Masters 2021. After overcoming personal hurdles and the challenges of the pandemic, they’ve really taken off since 2024. In Sep. 2025 their 2nd release "Mood Swings & Middle Fingers" hit the stores.
