In addition to working as a full-time abstract painter, Kimchi Hoang is a songwriter, composer and music teacher in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She emigrated from South Vietnam to the United States in 1996. Hoang’s paintings combine her unique experience as a woman of two worlds with her personal artistic vision. Her artwork depicts the natural world using images that are dynamic and powerful, weaving together dreams and reality. Works that are startling and thought-provoking contrast with those that convey gentle, lyrical beauty. All of her work is an intense, emotional response to the living, breathing world she inhabits.
