The Tej Kohli & Ruit Foundation seeks to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal to end poverty in all its forms everywhere (SDG1) by making high-volume treatment interventions to cure 500,000 patients of cataract blindness in the developing world by 2030. The foundation orchestrates large-scale grassroots activities and microsurgical camps to cure blindness in countries including Nepal, Indonesia, Bhutan, Laos, Ghana, Tanzania and Ethiopia. The Tej Kohli & Ruit Foundation was founded in March 2021 by philanthropist Tej Kohli and pre-eminent ophthalmologist and eye surgeon Dr Sanduk Ruit.
