Cross stitching and crafting are stress-relieving activities. Making things with my hands gets me out of my head and immersed in the beauty of colour and texture.
When I started my channel in November 2019, there were only a handful of NZ-based Flosstubers. I wanted to share my hobby and a bit of life from a kiwi perspective; I had things I wanted to say and share.
The kiwi Flosstube community has more than doubled and through my channel and other social media platforms I’ve met a lot of stitchers around the world and made some lovely, genuine friendships.
And I didn't expect to find the videos so good for my mental health and wellbeing - especially during family health challenges and in the landscape of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
My channel is mostly pretty light-hearted but I will speak up against injustices and discrimination and hate.
