Wai Care is an Auckland-Council-funded, community-based water quality monitoring, education and action programme in Auckland. With the help of local communities, our goal is to improve the health and quallity of freshwater systems (streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands, estuaries) and catchments in the Auckland Region. We engage with different groups and communities in many different ways and levels, and our activites (which are based mainly around monitoring) can focus on learning, community engagement, and science - but often a combination of all three.
