After releasing his synth influenced five song ep Dreaming Of A Sea Of Time in April 2025, Martin Kuiper returns with Ego, the first single from his rock album Prison Of Modesty, set for release in June 2026. ‘Ego is a kick ass rock song with an infectious chorus and a killer solo. Everyone should listen to it’, Kuiper laughs. Then, on a more serious note. ‘It’s a song about how your Ego can keep you small. Being narrow minded in life comes from an Ego that is too big. It happens to me too sometimes’, Kuiper says with a wink. In Ego, Martin mixes personal experiences with observations from everyday life. 'An ego can be nourished by an upbringing in which you are the centre of attention. Too much love without boundaries is fertile for an Ego.' Kuiper wrote the song a while ago, right after his first child was born. ‘Once you become a father you start to look back on your own youth and struggles while growing up. That’s basically the story behind Ego.’
