M.A.T.T aka Matthew Sylvester is a South African born rapper, songwriter and producer straight out of the suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up in a place called Retreat. Currently aged 26 , The rapper drew his inspiration from many talented acts such as JAY-Z ,The Notorious B.I.G. & Snoop Dogg at the age of 10. As M.A.T.T was discovering his own sound he began to be influenced by artists in his era such as Russ, Lil Wayne, Drake & Don Toliver. M.A.T.T then appeared on tv, in newspapers & blogs. The rapper proclaimed the name Man At The Top (M.A.T.T). He then relocated to the U.S. in 2019, he began to learn from individuals who have won Grammys and producers who assist in Billboard chart-toppers. Which also helped with grooming him to find his sound as an artist. In May 2020 he returned home (Cape Town) and released his Hit Single " Grateful " which racked up 140K streams in a few months and appeared on radio stations all over South Africa.
