Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) has a 33 year history doing community-based theatre work in B.C., Canada and around the world. Founded in 1981 by a group of artists, and helmed by Artistic Director David Diamond since 1984, we approach community-based cultural work from a systems-based perspective, acknowledging the many factors that lead to complex community issues. The company's Theatre for Living workshops have evolved from Augusto Boal's "Theatre of the Oppressed" Previous projects have focused on issues of violence in various forms, land claims, addiction, homelessness and racism to name just a few.
