The Department of Dance at Case Western Reserve University is distinguished as one of the oldest of the 30-plus MFA dance programs in institutions of higher education. Founded in 1975, it continues to offer both graduate and undergraduate degrees in a small conservatory-like environment within a top-tier world class research university.
The focus of the department, which is composed of the graduate program (MFA, MA) and an undergraduate BA degree program, has always been on Contemporary Dance with other areas including choreography, performance, pedagogy along with an emerging emphasis in Dancer Wellness, Medicine, and Science as well as cutting edge Dance and Technology.
The department offers many productions a year and special events each year.
