Michael Ekow sonically moves between indie, pop, hip-hop, R&B, and house music. Of Ghanaian descent, he grew up in Germany and England, and now resides in the Netherlands. Michael is dedicated to capturing emotions in his music through poetic lyrics. His work draws inspiration from artists like Rod Stewart, Florence and the Machine, Kendrick Lamar, and Frank Ocean. He is also known for his collaborations with dance artists.
Early 2024 saw the release of a first EP 'Keep Me From You', consisting of 5 dance tracks. In the summer of 2024 he released a follow up 'You Don't Know What's Going On, Talk To Me Nice' with producer May. Several tracks from the EP's like Golden, Wavy and Jamunia received support from BBC Radio Introducing, 3voor12 and NPO Blend. Michael Ekow & May kicked off 2025 with a captivating live showcase at showcase festival ESNS, the release of an indie EP 'Love Songs About Nobody' and a dance single 'Take It Easy On Me' with Bob Sinclar, which charted internationally.
