I'm an artist and work in my garden studio in Cambridge (UK) when I'm not painting live at an event.
I'd describe myself as a SONG PAINTER. My work mirrors the abstract nature of dance and music, speaking without words. I see painting as 'singing with colour'. Visceral, visual utterances using shape, hue and marks as my lexicon. A whole heart, mind, body & soul thing.
I love colour and movement, pattern and detail, shapes and lines, working large, using layers and getting messy. My style leans towards abstract expressionism; action painting and kinesthetic art are definately an influence. I'm excited by the extravagant dimensions and intimate detail that I see in creation, a joyfulness in the very act of creating. I hope to reflect these things in my own work.
I love to encourage creativity in others. It adds dimension, taste, depth, texture and richness to life, aiding expression, taking us beyond the seen and ordinary.
