Garage band Upstairs played from around 1985-1992 at a variety of venues, mainly in the Inland Empire in Southern California. Our music varied between punk, alternative, and new wave. Our lyrics and the words we spoke between songs had the goal of lifting up the name of Jesus and drawing young people to him. Many teens and others came to Christ through the ministry of the Upstairs band. Bass player Chris Sonksen now pastors an amazing church in Corona, CA (South Hills Church); Brad has been an elementary school teacher for about 15 years; Sam is a deputy sheriff; Anwar is a doctor; original lead Singer, Eddie, is up in L.A. doing God knows what, etc., etc., etc.
