NEESAN
a project by multi-instrumentalist, composer & producer, April Centrone.
Referred to by fans as an 'Arabic Khraungbin,' NEESAN is the brainchild of April Centrone, NY/LA based musician whose heart and sound are rooted in the timeless spirit of 1970's Lebanon. Drawing from the evocative blend of Arabic psych rock and cinematic textures, NEESAN brings to life the genre she calls Levant Noir—a raw, nostalgic soundscape that celebrates Lebanon’s resilience, beauty, and enduring cultural refuge.
A nod to April's passion as a percussionist, NEESAN pays homage to the captivating trance-like rhythms and odd-meters of the Middle East, with entire pieces named after the rhythms themselves. April's vision, inspired by Arabic music and culture, is to break down the barrier between stage and audience and create a shared experience that emotionally and spiritually elevates the soul.
