G’day! We’re John & Silvia, two Aussies chasing a dream, one kilometre at a time. Like many, we planned to travel Australia at retirement… but life had other plans. After Silvia’s diagnosis with stage 4 Sarcoma Jaw cancer, everything changed. Post-surgery, we packed up our lives, brought retirement forward, and hit the road full-time. That was five years ago, and we’ve never looked back. Now, we’re adding a bold new chapter: converting a 1995 retired Fire Truck into our very own off-grid expedition vehicle. It’s a DIY build with a 3 month deadline, and we’re doing it all ourselves, from tray prep to solar power, layout design and everything we need to get this vehicle ready so we can continue our travels around Australia and Abroad.
