Dr. Shahid Rasheed is currently serving as Associate Professor in the department of sociology at FC College University, Lahore. He has a rich and diverse range of experiences before joining academia. He did Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, LL.B. from Punjab University, M.Sc. Sociology from the University of Oxford, and PhD in Islamic Thought and Civilization from UMT, Lahore. He also remained part of Civil Services of Pakistan from 1999-2008. He is also working on an alternate education model called Zaawiya Trust School that is based on the principles of holistic education, particularly for the underprivileged children of society. He has published two books Mohabat, Zameer, Inqelaab in 1998;; and Muslim Attitudes Towards Political Modernity in 2022.
Shahid Rasheed is also interested in teaching and learning classical languages, particularly Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Greek, Latin and Hebrew.
