Spawning from the depths of the Midwest, Kansas Nu-Metal act, The Absent formed in September 2023 as a studio project, by Jay Pigmann (vocals), Jason Catlett (guitar/drums), Chris McNutt (guitar), and Ryan Davis (bass). Taking influences from classic bands like Korn & Static-X, the band have have created their own brand of Nu-Metal, with searing guitar solos, breakdowns, and melodic hooks. A sound that is very familiar, yet complex, shiny and new. The Absent offer a dynamic collection of rumination’s on some of life's inescapable fears; death, loss, failure, and the fleeting nature of the world around them. Combining themes of dread and anxiety with narratives that push back against the rot of the universe in futile defiance.
